The SPRING AMP II works as an interface to bridge the gap between standard audio mixers and spring reverb tanks, providing deep filtering and wide dynamics control of the springs output at extra low noise. This unit is empowered with a filter inspired by our most beloved synths, with its LFO modulation integrated in an intuitive and extremely playable interface design.
The Spring Amp II is a Hi-Fi amplifier for spring reverb tanks which combines studio quality sound response with a 2 pole HP/LP filter to shape the spring’s output
Here at Benidub we really passionate about designing spring-reverb devices. We started this journey years ago with our very first model named “Sensiverb” and kept engineering and tweaking it until the “Spring Amp project” took its actual shape. Hope you’ll enjoy our struggle!
Discrete transistors front end amplifier for the best achievable noise figure.
The Spring Amp II ha an inbuilt analog filter with controls on its cutoff, resonance and modulation. It also features a crossfader between the filtered and unfiltered signal to equalise and shape the output.
7.5W constant current amplifier drives 8ohm input reverb tanks for maximum volume and best trebles response.
1.POWER INPUT:
12VDC, 1A, center positive, 2.1mm*5.5mm barrel connector.
2.GAIN:
Sets the input balanced amplifier gain.
3.TONE:
Use it to enhance the spring tank audio input frequencies around 8KHz.
4.CUTOFF:
Main control for the VCF frequency.
5.FILTER MODULATION:
Each knob controls the modulation speed and the whole amount of it, respectively.
6.RESONANCE:
Set the VCF peak amount around the cutoff frequency.
7.GAIN:
Controls the gain of the coil’s pick up amplifier.
8.REVERB MIX:
Crossfades between filterd and un-filtered reverb sound.
9.MODULATION SELECT:
Choose between triangular LFO or SAMPLE & HOLD mode. If set on S&H modulation, the filter’s cutoff frequency gets randomly changed when triggered by the input signal’s peaks.
The Spring Amp II needs to be connected to a compatible spring-tank in order to work correctly. Please never connect the Spring Amp II to a tank without making sure that it is a compatible one.
